Benefits and Qualities
Lavender is the premier essential oil of its family because it offers benefits to every age of life. It is a powerful antispasmodic and anti-infection agent whose merits are revealed through a gentle unguent on the nape of the neck or on the soles of the feet. It is indispensible as a relaxant for agitated infants, while its healing and regenerating powers aid the systems of those challenged by a plenitude of years. Synergies: peppermint, neroli, sandalwood, lemon.
Production
Essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the flowery heads of lavandula angustifolia P. Miller
The Plant
Distinctive emblem of France's Midi region, true lavender's blue spikes fill the summer countryside. It has forever been in league with searches for purity. Its name comes from the latin verb ""lavare"" (to clean), because the Ancients scented their baths by tossing in flowers and leaves of lavender. Thus, in the humble and popular lavender sachet dropped into the linens, our undiminished taste for the most healthy of odours carries on.
