Indian basil essential oil is a powerful anti-spasmodic which, naturally, is widely used to settle gastric and intestinal troubles. It lightens an overburdened stomach, so often the cause of insomnia. In this way, basil essential oil is included in the welcome arsenal of anti-stress plants. Synergies: lemon.

Essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of the leaves and flowers of ocimum basilicum L. ssp Grand vert chemotype Linalol.
The Plant
Provençal natives baptised this plant ""pistou,"" because they would crush it (pistare) in the mortor with garlic to form a marriage which cannot be ignored and whose gastronomic reputation is an accomplished fact. In a completely different category, the derivation of the name basil leads us to the Greek basilikos, a royal herb, and the Ancients linked it to their most important ceremonies. It thus belongs to a group of plants universally celebrated, from the kitchen to the king's bedchamber, by way of the church.
Caution
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Keep away from children. Must be diluted. Short treatments only.

Parfume-Creation
Penetrating, sweet, spicy, fresh, and green odour recalling mignonette, with a definite touch of anis. Spicy note very popular, in masculine perfumes in particular.
