Benefits and Qualities
Coriander essential oil is used principally in the area of digestion. Stimulating the secretion of gastric juices, it is equally welcome at the beginning or end of a meal (in its role as a spice this goes without saying). In external usage, coriander essential oil can help with rheumatic pain and can soothe ulcerated epidermis.

Essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of the fruit of coriandrum sativum l. (Ombellifers)
The Plant
Coriander belongs to the large ombellifer family. As soon as man became aware of the botanical universe he noticed it. The Romans set great store by it and acclimated the plant to the zone of their empire. They used it, among other things, for preserving meat, and also made it part of their pharmocopia. It's remarkable to note that an almost identical phenomenon took place in Asia at the same time.
