Benefits and Qualities
Juniper essential oil (berries and branches) contributes to the elimination of toxins in general and of uric acid in particular. It is a diuretic and cleansing agent. For that reason it contributes positively to good digestion, to assuaging nutritional abuses, and to control of cellulite. As an external balm, we should note that it provides beneficial action against muscular fatigue.

Essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation for the fruit and branches of juniperus communis L. (Cupressaceaes)
The Plant
This spiny shrub is well met in all of the northern hemisphere countrysides. The berries, which take three years to mature, are harvested. They render to gin its taste and the origin of its name. Even so, the perfumiers have unstintingly sought it out for woody notes. The tradition is not just a recent one: juniper was already included in the composition of creams and perfumes in ancient Egypt.
