Benefits and Qualities
Lavender aspic essential oil is an expectorant of the first order, active against all maladies of the lungs currently known. Apart from its anti-bacterial properties, it is useful against staphylococcus doré and the shingles virus. First among uses is its effective treatment for healing severe burns. Synergies: eucalyptus, lemon.
Production
Essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of the flowery heads of lavandula latifolia Medikus. (Labieaes)
The Plant
There are three kinds of authentic lavender. Lavender aspic is one of them, even though it is sometimes considered a substitute for true lavender. It is, nonetheless, a different plant altogether, readily qualified as ""male."" Little cultivated, since it is less interesting to perfumiers, it grows freely on the arid hillsides of Provence. Aromatherapy is where lavender aspic makes its own mark.
