Benefits and Qualities
Tarragon essential oil acts in a wide field. Nonetheless, it is particularly known to aid digestion. A sugar cube imbibed with several drops of tarragon essence calms an attack of hiccups. But this essence also prevents the onset of certain allergic reactions, if used two weeks prior to the pollenisation period. Finally, it is recommended in cases of muscle spasm.

The Plant
Tarragon comes from far away. It traversed the steppes of Central Asia in the saddle bags of Mongol warriors or those of the 12th century crusaders. The Arabs made a central place for it in their pharmacopia under the name tharkoum. And the French monks of the 16th century could cultivate the herb without stress: it is one of the rare aromatic plants not suspected of possessing aphrodisiac qualities!
